Throughout history, many civilizations have taken special note of the equinoxes and solstices. Denver has made some statements about the significance of these events as well. (See Equinox (March 19, 2020), Equinox (March 9, 2010), The Equinox (September 17, 2012)) As we gather on this Fall Equinox, we invite all who desire to join in a day of fasting, prayer, and fellowship, to celebrate and give notice to this event.
The central purpose of this gathering is to celebrate the equinox by lifting our fellow Covenant Christian brothers and sisters with our faith, love, and prayers, knitting our hearts closer together. Throughout the day's activities we will seek learning, strength, healing, wisdom, protection, and peace for one another and ourselves.
On this website, you will find a form where you can submit prayer requests for yourself and for others. This gathering will focus, in part, around these requests. The desire is to unite our faith in fasting and prayer for all those who carry burdens among us--or in other words, for each of us, because we all have burdens. Please take the time to share with us things from your life that we can fast and pray for. Even if you do not plan to attend, we would still love to hear from you.
He told them: Here are the waters of Mormon (referring to what they were called). Do you have a desire to enter God’s fold and be called His people? Are you willing to help carry each other’s burdens, to lighten them for one another? Are you willing to mourn with those who mourn, and comfort those who need comforting? Will you stand and testify as witnesses of God at all times, in all things, wherever you go, for the rest of your lives? Do you want to qualify for redemption by God and be included with those of the first resurrection, receiving eternal life? If this is the desire of your hearts, are you now willing to be baptized in the Lord’s name, as a witness before Him that you’ve made a covenant with Him? Are you willing to commit to serve Him and keep His commandments, so He can pour out His Spirit more abundantly upon you? Now when the people heard this, they applauded and shouted: This is our heart’s desire!
We all have burdens that we bear. Many of these burdens cannot be fixed by others, but perhaps that is not the point. Perhaps the point is not to eliminate the burden, but rather to help make it lighter. Perhaps that lightening can come through understanding the hidden pain, the hidden struggles of those of around us, of our fellow Covenant Sisters and Brothers; and by treating one another with gentleness, kindness, and patience, even when we cannot understand.
The following is a 30 min. podcast episode that discusses more principles concerning "hidden pain". Listening to this episode is highly reccomended for those who would like to participate in the celebration.

Fasting, Prayer, Fellowship, and Seeking the Lord Together
Sacrament, Dedication of Fast
The day will begin with partaking of the sacrament together. Sacrament will begin at 10 am. Following Sacrament, we will have a prayer dedicating a fast to the requests that have been submitted to the website. Those who cannot fast from food are welcome to fast in whatever way they feel best.
*Note: originally the schedule had this taking place in an open meadow, but due to terrain difficulties all activities have been moved to the campground.
Scripture Discussion, Free Time>
From 10:30am to 3pm there is time for a big group scripture discussion at the meadow for any who would like to join. We will be discussing Christ’s sermon at Bountiful, its relation to lifting each other up and bearing one anothers burdens, loving our brothers and sisters as ourselves, and how we can be of greater blessing to each other. We will also be discussing actions we can take to help bear one anothers burdens. The time is also open if anyone wishes to have re-baptisms at nearby Yearns reservoir, or for any other activities or discussions people feel to do.
Sacrament, Prayer Circle
Beginning at 3pm at the meadow we will again have the sacrament together, followed immediately thereafter by the organization of a prayer circle. The requests submitted to the website will be taken and each request will be prayed for. There is no set end time to our prayers, but they will continue for as long as we feel.
This celebration is a part of an effort to recognize and celebrate each of the four corners, or each Equinox and Solstice. A similar celebration will take place December 21st 2026. Stay tuned for updates on that date.Submitting a Prayer Request

You may use your real name, a pen name, or simply choose to remain anonymous.
The primary purpose of these requests is to pray for our fellow Covenant Christians, though requests for others are also welcomed.
If you are submitting a request on behalf of someone else, please include their name only with their permission. Otherwise, please keep the request anonymous or use a fictitious name. God knows exactly who is being referred to, even when names are withheld.
